Chewing solid, hard food as a babies first food is important for the proper growth and development of the facial bones, the jaws, and the airway. If you are a parent like we are, there is always a concern for choking. We get it! So, here is a good tool to allow the baby to chew on hard foods and prevent choking hazards. Place frozen blueberries, carrots, or any fruit or vegetable you would like to introduce and allow your baby to CHEW, CHEW, CHEW. This action grows the jaw. Our ancestors didn’t have processed foods. Our ancestors also didn’t have crooked teeth! When processed food became part of our food pyramid, we started growing smaller jaws which creates no room for adult teeth and narrows our airway…think crooked teeth, snoring and sleep apnea.
